Materials Donation Policy

The library accepts donations of recent books, recorded books, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs. Donations should be clean and in good condition. We do not accept donations of magazines, textbooks, or encyclopedias.

All donations are accepted without stipulation, and immediately become the property of the Friends of the Pawtucket Public Library. They cannot be returned. Some donations may be added to the collection. The same criteria used for inclusion in the library’s collection also applies to gifts. The rest will be sold in the various book sales. Donations added to the collection may be subsequently withdrawn when they are worn or when their content is no longer current.

The Friends of the Pawtucket Library accept donations during the library's regular operating hours. The Friends can not pick up any donations. Please do not bring more items than you can carry into the library.

If you desire a receipt for tax purposes, you must first list how many hard-cover books, paperbacks, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs you are donating. Then the library will be able to provide you with a receipt. We cannot, however, assign a dollar value to your donation.
