Here’s a bit more information about each of the challenges.
The Children’s Challenge - Children read nine (9) hours or more during the summer. They can read on their own or with family and friends and log their time as they go. All reading counts, including whole books, chapters, magazines, comics, graphic novels, audio books, e-books, and anything else that has a title and an author! If you reach the goal, you’ll receive a virtual raffle ticket for prizes that will be awarded during our end of summer event on August 11 at 11:00 a.m. (Readers do not have to be present to win). If you read an additional 9 hours, you can earn an entry for an additional raffle ticket!
Earning prizes - After every three (3) hours that you read you will earn a small prize. Once you read nine (9) hours you will earn a virtual raffle ticket that you can use to enter to win one of 3 prizes. Read and additional 9 hours and you earn an extra raffle ticket!
Preschool Activity Log - These early literacy activities are a great way to engage with children. After every four (4) activities are completed your child will earn a prize bag. When 12 activities have been completed your child will earn a raffle ticket for one of 3 prizes. A paper Preschool Activity Log is available from the Children’s Library.
