Pawtucket Library Summer Challenges for Children and Teens
- Sign up online to join one of the challenges. The program is free. You’ll just need to create an account to get going! You can also sign up at the library.

Here’s a bit more information about each of the challenges.
The Children’s Challenge - Children read nine (9) hours or more during the summer. They can read on their own or with family and friends and log their time as they go. All reading counts, including whole books, chapters, magazines, comics, graphic novels, audio books, e-books, and anything else that has a title and an author! If you reach the goal, you’ll receive two virtual raffle tickets to enter for the prize basket you like best that will be awarded during our end of summer event on August 11 at 11:00 a.m. (Readers do not have to be present to win).
Earning prizes - After three (3) hours that you have read you will earn a small prize and a raffle ticket for a prize basket. After six (6) hours read you will earn another raffle ticket, and a coupon for a fun local activity. Once you read nine (9) hours you will earn two raffle tickets and a coupon for a free Wendy's Frosty.
Preschool Activity Log - These early literacy activities are a great way to engage with children. After every three (3) activities are completed your child will earn a small prize and a raffle ticket for a prize basket. After six (6) activities are completed your child will earn another raffle ticket, and a coupon for a fun local activity. Once you have completed nine (9) activities you will earn two raffle tickets and a coupon for a free Wendy's Frosty. The statewide Rhode Island Summer Reading Program is supported by the RI Office of Library and Information Services, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Local support includes the Friends of the Pawtucket Public Library, and the Pawtucket Library’s Caidin Fund.
